Credit Collection at capitec bank

I had a credit with capitec bank and I was a paying customer until I lost my job. Went to the bank told them my story they gave me forms to take to my employer and bring them back to my surprise they said nothing about the insurance paying out debt they said I must pay whatever amount I have. I am not working a mother of 2 and I have been paying the insurance in the event I'm unemployed or death now they telling me stories please help.
