Complaint Regarding Failed Recall of Funds
I would like to lodge a formal complaint regarding the unsuccessful recall of funds.
On 7 January 2026, I made a payment using a cellphone number that was verified by Capitec Bank’s system. On 8 January 2026, I realised that I had mistakenly entered an incorrect digit in the cellphone number. I immediately contacted Capitec Bank to request assistance with reversing the transaction.
Unfortunately, I was unable to receive the necessary assistance. I was advised that the bank was unable to reach the receptionist, and as a result, the recall of the funds was unsuccessful.
I am confused and concerned about this outcome, as the cellphone number was initially verified by Capitec Bank’s system. However, I was later informed that the number does not exist and was not verified by the system. This indicates a possible system error on the bank’s side.
I urgently request assistance in recovering my funds and clarity on how this situation occurred. I would appreciate your prompt attention to this matter.
