Closing a deceased persons bank account
I have now been struggling for little under a year now to get my late mothers account closed and the funds transferred to me. Everytime there is something else I need to do.
When I sent a court letter asking for the account statement it took them a month to send it to me and only because I phoned in asking where it was.
Last Monday the 27th of May I sent through all the correct documents and was told they will let the Finance department know they have now received all the documents and I should get feedback in 48 hours.
Friday the 31st I phoned in as I have not received any feedback. I was told by an agent in the CCS Deceased department they will escalate it and it should take 7 working days to.finalise this matter but I will get feedback from the agent in the finance department as they were busy with it on Friday.
Monday I phoned as I still haven't heard from them. They keep tellimg me 48 hours. Yesterday I phoned again and was told the manager will escalate it to the manager in the finance department being told again to wait 48 hours.
Now my patience is up. The only feesback I get is when I phone in and even then the feedback is lacking.
I want you to know how your loved ones are going to struggle with something that was suppose to be easy to finalise turned out to be one of the hardest. The stress and anxiety they have put me through this last year is unheard of. They have caused unecessary delays. I do not want to hear apologies anymore. This has been the most horrible experience I ever had to go through.
