Cheque Clearance

I deposited a cheque at the end of last week, I was told by the teller that cheques take strictly 14 days to clear.

I then called the call center this morning to query if there is any way it couldbe cleared faster, I was then told that it will take 14 days because I had not taken the express xlearance option, problem is, I was not offered this option by the teller, nor can I mark it for express clearance now.

I find this service quite inefficient, firstly 14 days is crazy given the fact that most other banks are 7 days, secondly I did question the teller and was not given the express option.

Now I don't mind paying a little extra for faster clearance, but I'm stuck because I did not take an option that I wasn't presented with.

Right now I'm honestly considering changing banking institutions because I cannot afford to wait 14 working days for money to come through.

was contacted by David who cleared things up, all that was needed was a bit of knowledge around how the process works, which needs to be filtered down to the tellers to avoid such complaints.

Well, 14 days later and still nothing.

Pathetic.
