Capitec's Incompetence Continues... CLOSE MY DAMN ACCOUNT!

I opened a savings account with Capitec on 30 September 2020. During my time with the consultant, I was asked if I would like to move my debit orders to Capitec, and that this process would be much quicker if done there and then. When asked which debit orders I'd like to move to Capitec, I clearly stated that I'd like Afrihost and Discovery to be moved. The consultant saw an FNB debit order as well, but I mentioned that since I still had an active account with FNB, that it would not be necessary to move an FNB debit order, as it would naturally go off the FNB account. So basically I only authorised that my debit orders with Afrihost and Discovery be moved to Capitec, NOTHING else.

The consultant proceeded with the debit order switch, I received my new Capitec card and off I went.

On 2 October 2020, I received an SMS stating that my new bank details have been provided to FNB Card so that my debit order can be moved. I phoned Capitec and was given a number to call, which was for FNB. Since it was Capitec's mistake, I physically went to Capitec and spoke to the consultant who opened my account. He confidently stated that he knew it wouldn't go through so I shouldn't worry. On 5 October, I received an email from FNB stating that my debit order has been moved to Capitec and even after I declined a DebiCheck Mandate, there have been numerous attempts from FNB to debit my Capitec account, adding fees to my Capitec account.

I requested that my Capitec account be closed as per my email on 5 October 2020 and was informed that I have to come in to personally close it myself, so not only has Capitec messed up my FNB debit order, I have to waste my time to close an account. This ***** up on Capitec's part has resulted in me having to close my FNB account which, by the way, I was able to close telephonically, but now I'm sitting with a Capitec account that I don't even want anymore because the moment any funds go into that account, it will disappear because of the incompetence of the staff at Cradlestone's Capitec branch.

By all means, if you won't close my account, I will simply just leave it as is and eventually you will have no choice but to render the account inactive, because you're not getting a dime out of me for bank fees!!!!!
