Capitec's Covid-19 relief is a sham
My wife called Capitec to inform them that she is being temporarily laid off and was asked to send a letter from her employer which she did. The letter was sent on 13 May to *** as instructed. After that no communication was done from the bank,
She received a little payment from UIF via her employer, the payment was less than half her salary, which is almost enough for survival during this pendamic.
To her surprise Cabitec debited the loan amount leaving her with close to nothing. She called the customer service for clarification and was told a story that her arrangement process was not finalised......which she does not understand as she was told to send a letter and that was it.
Unfortunately the "best" they can do according to the agent is to refund half of the loan installment.
I mean you luckily got almost half of your usual pay and the greedy institution decides to take even after you indicated that you need a break since your income is severely affected.
Shame on you Capitec.
