Capitec - you disappoint
I've been a client of Capitec since 2014, but now I feel let down. You claim to represent the masses, yet my experience suggests otherwise. In February 2024, my credit card was charged for five transactions at Vodacom Petrus Steyn in the Free State—a place I've never visited. I promptly visited a bank branch, but only three of the five transactions were reversed. I received a new card at the Lifestyle Centurion branch and was charged for it. In March and April 2024, my card was again compromised in Bloemfontein, Cape Town, and Durban, resulting in further losses. The bank has declined to compensate these. It's disheartening that a financial institution with insurance seems indifferent to its clients' welfare, prioritizing growth over protection. As a professional in financial services, I understand that insurance claims can be made, yet I'm left to cover over R20,000 in *****ulent charges. The bank's ***** investigations appear self-serving, neglecting client interests. This betrayal is concerning, especially for lower-income earners who may not be safeguarded as the bank pursues profits over customer care. Despite my loyalty, it seems customer retention is not a priority for you. I had considered transferring my home loan, but now I see that client welfare is not a priority. I'm convinced the compromise occurred within the bank, as my card details were recited to me over a phone call, and I witnessed unauthorized transactions in real-time. Despite reporting this and obtaining a police affidavit, I'm at a loss. It's disheartening to realize that client security is not valued. What, then, is the purpose of your professional indemnity insurance if not to protect clients from *****?
