Capitec will try and ruin your credit history!
Capitec debited payment for my loan on the 27th of last month straight from my bank account, like every 27th of every month but on the 30th of May I wake up to a SMS saying I have not paid. Knowing Capitec debited the installment, I still double checked my FNB bank statement and I found that their money went off successfully.
I call Capitec on Saturday to query this & I'm told there's been technical glitches with debits from outside banks. Their agent, Keitumetse requests that I send my bank statement to her and she will escalate the issue so it can be sorted. I oblige, I email your agent a very personal document bearing my finances but because I want to be cooperative and aid in sorting this out, I sent it.
Everyday since the 30th I've been bombarded with SMSs of nonpayment, despite the fact that I've paid. This morning I wake up to an SMS informing me I'm in arears due to nonpayment of my loans when I have paid, like I always do because Capitec debits straight from my FNB account!
So I just need to get this right, Capitec bank is the kind of bank that thinks it's ok to penalise clients for an error on their side? Capitec is a bank that thinks it's ok to mess up my credit record based on a technical glitch on their side?
I used my own resources to contact this bank and try and sort out a problem on THEIR SIDE which they've had days to investigate and sort out! Now the cherry on top Capitec wants to mess up my credit history for their incompetence and slow response. Why Capitec?
This is unacceptable! Especially at this current time when millions of South Africans are undergoing financial strain! If I needed some sort of financial assistance right now from a financial institution I would have to be in good standing with all my debtors (I know this because FNB made a call to me, did you hear that, they called me asking if I may need assistance - that's service) but because of you Capitec I would not be able to get it because you have deemed me a nonpayer when you debited your damn installment amount from my bank account!
Sort this out immediately! And FYI I have seen other clients complain about the same on Twitter and your pathetic response of saying they must contact the customer service department! Are you serious? Why must people use their resources (when every penny counts right now) to sort out a problem on YOUR side! Plus from my experience it would be a waste of time anyway because I did that and look where I am today!
How about you do your job and uphold your end of the deal Capitec? How about you hold off on deeming people nonpayers and trying to ruin their credit history and SORT YOUR PROBLEMS out first!
