I have been banking with Capitec since I was in Varsity and I'm 36 years old now. My husband always tells me to move to a more "professional bank" and I have always defended Capitec because I never had issues - UNTILL NOW.
On the 10 March 2024 I realized that "unauthorized debit orders" were coming from my Credit Card. Debit orders from December each month to the value of R6000. I immediately phoned Capitec and spoke to a gentleman that told me he would log the call and that he would deactivate my credit card so the ****mers can't deduct more money.
The next day I went to the bank to get a new card.
I phoned on the 17th March to find out how the investigation was going just to find out he never reported my claims to the card disputes department. I was then informed that I had to pay R80 so Capitec can investigate my claim?
HOW WAS THE UNAUTHORISED Payments even made??? Capitec should pay me for bringing this under their attention. Why have debit checks and security measures in place when the *****sters can go about as they please.
On the 25th I AGAIN called for an update and was told the card disputes team will phone me in 7 days. I phoned again yesterday on the 5th April and still no answer. What the **** Capitec? My husband banks with RMB he a similar situation and the bank investigated and paid back his money within 2 WORKING days. I HAVE BEEN WAITING ON CAPITEC SINCE THE 10 March.
I cant complain about service as I haven't received any.
