Capitec unable to assist with proven ***** cases

I was debited r1776 for a dating site without authorisation.

I called the bank and an agent advised me that I needed to contact the site.

I want the debit to be reversed I want to put a stop order to prevent further debits but I cannot get it done via the bank

I understand that this was a **** but the bank should be able to prevent future debits by creating a stop order and reversing the charges.

Other banks have done this in the past. Namely absa bank when my account was debited incorrectly for a site that did not have authorisation

Why can't capitec do a reversal. It is within their power to do so as the bank needs authorisation as well as the app and no authorisation was given.

I need an advisor to contact me in order to get this debit reversed and stop future debits as the bank and the banking app loaded asks for verification and this was not the case therefore this debit should be credited

I have viewed many reviews and capitec sends an automated response saying that someone will get back to you in 5 days. Nothing has been done. I have not received any emails or calls regarding this matter. I have consulted the consumer protection act with regards to prices advertised and this company was clearly ********** as other consumers have also complained about this site. I am within my rights to ask for a refund but as this is an international company they don't prescribe to South African legislation. The bank however has the obligation to its customers to investigate ********** activities and resolve these matters in a timeous manner. I have yet to hear back from this consultant and a week has already lapsed I need this debit to be reversed asap

I was contacted by an agent who advised me that this transaction could be reversed today if I signed a form and sent it back my midday today. She did not send the form and the day is going by which means my reverse will not be done today. I provided her with all the information she required but once I explained what happened and how it amounts to ***** she advised me that she would need to investigate further. The site did not have my authorisation for a debit of R1776. Their pricing was misleading and that violates the terms and conditions of the consumer protection act which is meant to safeguard comsumers against duplicitous sites. It is within the banks power to reverse this transaction. Further investigation on hello peter alone would provide the bank with enough proof that this site operates in bad faith so they can reverse the charges but are failing to do so despite every attempt I have made to provide them with relevant and honest information.
