CAPITEC - TRASH SERVICE
Never in my life have I ever experienced such putrid service from a Bank and Credit Provider.
I took out a Loan with Capitec as I was banking with them at the time and seemed like the easier thing to do. I then settled shortly after two months. Upon my settlement process I called in on 17/01/2020 to request for a settlement balance as I was planning to settle it that same day. The consultant then quoted me the balance and upon my request for my settlement letter she advised that I would need to send an email for it but they would take 5 working days to get back to me, if I didn’t want to wait she could give me the settlement balance then and there and I would be able to settle now. I work in the financial industry so I am aware of the difference between an outstanding balance and a settlement one and I am also aware that sometimes CP’s confirm something and then if there’s no proof they deny it. I was given a reference number and thereafter I went and settled the account via a transfer. I immediately requested my paid up letter via email. I then called in on Tuesday the 21st January to ask for my paid up letter as nothing was received, no acknowledgement, nothing. I was then advised by the consultant that he can see the account was settled and has sent a request for closure and for my paid up letter which I can expect to receive within 2 working days. I never did. I then called in on Saturday 25th January to find out where my letter was as it had been 3 business days since I called and requested it. I was then advised by the consultant that she could see a 50cents outstanding and that I needed to pay it before I could close it. Firstly I had to wait and nobody said anything about outstanding funds when I called in the first time so I could not understand why this 50c appeared now. Non-the-less I went into a branch that same day to settle it. Then at the branch I got the biggest shock of my life. The 50c was actually R1345.50???? I was furious because why could they not quote me the correct amount initially and why on both occasions when I called did they not mention this? It was disgusting and completed utter bull**** service and I have actually decided to close my savings account.
Then after long await for any assistance in the branch situated at Grand Central in Cape Town. I just pulled out money which was intended for something else and paid this ridiculous amount as I JUST WANTED TO BE DONE WITH THEM. Then the consultant in the branch tells me I cannot close my SAVINGS ACCOUNT, due to me having a balance on the loan – WHICH I JUST SETTLED!!!!! ***!!!! I then asked why this was the case and they advised then their story switched from that to the fact that I have pending transactions on my savings account – which I did not – I did not use the account for several days. And there was a positive balance in my savings account – money they needed to give me.
They then asked me to go again to the bank to withdraw money after telling me if I have transactions it will not close – *** TRAINED THESE PEOPLE????? Then I got, for lack of a better word, *****Y ATTITUDE from a consultant???
WOW CAPITEC IS THIS HOW YOU TREAT YOUR CLIENTS???? I AM GLAD I MOVED BANKS AND GOT AWAY FROM YOUR PATHETIC SERVICE!!!! TRASH!!!!!!!
1. No consistency 2. No accountability 3. Lack of correct information 4. Lack of professionalism 5. Clowns that work in branches. 6. TRASH!
