Capitec take all my UIF MONEY
I’m at a point of absolute disappointment. In July I went to Capitec and informed them that I was retrenched. Completed all necessary documents and because I had 2 outstanding loans and a credit card made arrangements on how much I’d be able to pay in the 60 days before my loan insurance approves settlement of loans.
I spoke to the consultant at Foresthill Bank called Millicent who further put me on the line with another lady I then proceeded to make arrangements with. 2 weeks after my visit Millicent called to say that my insurance had approved settlement of my loans but that I should still stick to the arrangements made as the process of settlement would still usually take 60 days.
When UIF paid me in August the bank took money as per the arrangements made. UIF was then paid to me in September. Capitec then debited my account with the full loan amounts as per what I was paying when I was employed. I hurried to the bank to make them aware of this as at this point I had a zero balance. Senzo the consultant that assisted at Mall at Reds said that they’d need to investigate and do the reversal within 48 hours.
At that point I decided to reverse some debit orders in order to have access to some money while I wait for the 48 hours to pass.
Capitec proceeded to transfer that money that I had to pay the loans. When I went back to the bank they said they where paying what was outstanding from August as the system does not pick up arrangements but it picks up arrears. This bringing my account to a zero balance again.
On Friday 27 September I was told this would take more time but I’d get a call on Monday 30 September. The consultant still proceeded to say the insurance for the loans was approved and that they are awaiting g payment.
I’m a single mother of 2 kids and only rely on my UIF. I’ve not been able to buy food or supplies. My kids go back to school tomorrow, how do I pay for them to get there or come back home?
Why is Capitec debiting me when the insurance has confirmed that they will settle my loans.
I cannot at any point fathom the gross cruelty I feel. I am so upset and mostly deviated to have trusted Capitec. No one has contacted me from the bank still. I called but the line is constantly engaged. I have no means of getting there as I have no money.
I’ve never felt hatred in my life but this I must say is the worst a bank you trust can do to you at a point where your only source of income is UIF that on its own only pays about 35% of your salary.
I wouldn’t recommend Capitec to anyone
