Capitec supporting the ****mer industry.
I bought an item on Facebook that was advertised for R200. Immediately after I paid a second amount of R2383 went off my account taken by the same company. I immediately went to the bank to get help to put a hold on the *****ulent payment. The amount was still pending on my statement and in red. The lady at the bank stopped my card and the payment so I thought. As I got home the Lady from the bank phone to tell me it was returned, and I had to get back to the bank because they cannot reverse the payment without proof that I did not approve it. I showed them the add of the item i bought for R200 and that there was no other indication of R2383 whatsoever. How on earth do you prove that you have not approved something. They opened a case and told me to wait for the for the decision. That will take 7 - 14 working days. Today is the 19th, the date this all started was on the 1st. I haven't had any response from the bank yet. The transaction was still pending on my account for 4 days. Then it was paid to the *****ster without the dispute being closed or the investigation being done. At least the *****ster was treated very well and got his money. Now the bank tells me they could not stop the payment and even though it was pending for 4 days. I asked the bank what it means if a transaction is pending. They said "Pending transactions are transactions that have been paid for. The funds have been reserved for the merchant and cannot be used." I told the guy that they knew that the so-called merchant was a ****mer and yet they loyally held onto ****** money to give it to him 4 days later without doing any investigation. Surely if you are informed that the merchant is a ****mer almost immediately after the transaction has gone through should the investigation not be completed before you pay the money over to him? The way you are doing things it is making it extremely easy for a ******** to ***** our money from the place that we consider to be a safe place for our money. Should the client of the bank not be treated better than the ****mer. If the client says he has been ****med, first trust him and immediately block the payment to the merchant/***** till there is proof that your client is the dishonest one and not the ****mer. At least the ****mer got his money, 5 stars to Capitec for their loyalty!!!! Maybe he also has an account with Capitec. Through this whole ordeal I was treated like the ********, and he was carried on their hands.
