Capitec service rescues a bad experience

National Treasury's Central Supplier Database asked me to provide a screen shot from my Capitec bank's system confirming my business bank account details (despite my having previously sent a letter from Capitec as well as a bank statement to the CSD)- CSD verification of my business bank account is needed so that my client invoices can be paid (i.e. this verification process is negatively impacting on my company- an SMME- thus undermining government's committment to support small businesses).

The Mowbray, Cape Town branch Manager (Lazola- she refused to provide her surname) refused to provide me with this screen shot showing my account details saying this could provide information which could be a security risk to the bank system (Despite my indicating that there was no information on the screen shot other than my account details and there was not way bank security could be compromised by the screen shot).

An hour after leaving the Bank, I was called by Ms Nazli Kassim, a Capitec complaints management officer, and she apologised for my experience and emailed me a letter containing the requested screen shot confirmation I required. This was much appreciated.

What I fail to understand is why Capitec refused this request in the first place and I hope that they will communicate with their staff to better deal with future client requests of a similar nature.
