I Miss LN Pretorius Hereby state that I belong to a Stokvel run by Mr J. Mathebula the aim is to raise money to eradicate poverty & achieve certain personal goals by so doing
We contribute different amounts based on affordability and Capitec bank has put a hold on *OUR* money without liaising with the acc holder & asking why there is a certain amount of money in his account.
Capitec bank was started on the premis of Stokvels & short term loans, therefore they should know better how a STOKVEL operates.
We have been instructed to write affidavits & submit to the bank promising that the hold will be lifted, we did as requested & still our funds are with held indefinitely
This is a serious matter as members are sitting without money & Capitec's aim is to frustrate us & keep our money because that is how they operate
90% of their clients are black, yet they still see the need to oppress us, without us there will be NO CAPITEC BANK
We urge you too look into this matter as a matter of urgency, if not we will approach the bank Ombud & we will sue Capitec bank for defamation as they are tarnishing Mr J.Mathebula's name & he hasn't committed a crime
If this was a WHITE person would they have done this? I CAN ANSWER BIG NO!!
People are stuck with no money some facing evictions, some contemplating SUICIDE, others debts are piling and yet this bank is sitting with our money locked up instead & frustrating us, & we have to be @ their mercy for our hard earned money #lift the hold on our money by Minday 7th Nov 2022

What are we expected to do. The FICA policy says we need to be transparent in terms of the funds we receive, generate or give away. We trust you as the bank to keep our funds secured but it appears Capitec is one bank with vested interest in especially a black man's fat account. Do we spread the word to all blacks that do Trading, Stokvels etc to shut their accounts and open Mymo Standard bank account which accommodates all these activities.
We need answers, pertaining to Justice Mathebula's account. We don't know him as a *******, ********* but as a hard worker (hustler), who instead ploughs back to the community by providing the needy community, widowed, orphans etc.
Maybe we need to bring the media on board and spread this to all Social media platforms and the world.
