Capitec: playing with peoples lives

Last year I opened a credit card with Capitec to help boost my credit score. Ish.. wrong move!

The first few payments went without a hitch until Capitec decided out of the blue and without my knowledge to change my pay date. This resulted in a "Late payment" and reflects as such on my credit report.

I get a call from Capitec on my employer's landline that I have missed the payment and when can I pay the money (how embarrassing!) I tell the lady that I only get paid on the 1st.

I phoned Capitec, was told to come to the branch, did so, sat there for hours with the consultant to figure out what happened and change my pay date back to when I get paid. The next month the debit goes off at the correct time. For the FOUR months after that though they have changed it to some random date that goodness knows how they came up with that and decided to debt my account then, more late payments! So now my credit score is down in the dumps after months of hard work on my side. In December they debited my account on the 25th and again on the 28th, I get paid on the 1st.

You debit my account on the wrong date and then I get marked as a late payer, really??? What is the point of paying at all.

They still haven't updated my employment details 6 months after letting them know that I have started at a new company. After speaking to 4 complaint department agents this morning I am just fed up! Not one person could help. Really Capitec you guys are playing with peoples lives here
