Capitec "loses" international payment

I been working for a large international company for about 6 years now and gets paid in Euro's.

In October, Capitec started handling the international payments in their own Forex department and has completely "lost" a large payment. When calling the Forex dept, one gets some automated instructions to follow. Needless to say, they are always busy and one should be prepared to wait 25 - 50 minutes before one gets through to a person.

Between my colleagues and I, we receve payments via different banks and everyone received their payments except me ! I have run into a deadlock as Capitec wants a MT103 form and my employer's banker cannot retrieve it as the funds has not been released yet. All I could supply them was a Proof Of Payment and a report that the fund have not been released yet. Why is the company payment system good for everyone else, but somehow Capitec is too special?

The transfer was made 43 days ago and, this morning, a senior banking clerk managed to get hold of the Forex dept., just to be told that it has been escalated to the business division and I have to wait another 5 days.

Needless to say, I have instructed my employer to change my banking details to another banker. Once I can get the funds paid to Capitec released- or returned, which is not even visible on the Captec system, I will have my funds in my new bank account within five working days.

In the meantime, I still have to pay for fuel, rates and taxes, my gardener, housekeeper etc. I wonder if the municipality will accept Capitec's insistent appologies without cutting off my electricity?

As soon as this mess is sorted out, I will retrieve all my Capitec bank statements and CLOSE my, my wife's and my son's accounts. Capitec has lost these clients forever !

If one is to receive international payments, I recommend staying away from Capitec.
