CAPITEC - JUST FREEZES YOUR ACCOUNTS WITHOUT WARNING/NOTICE
I have made a payshap payment and moments after this Capitec goes and freezes all my accounts. Upon calling customer service I was requested to visit a branch to verify my payment. I have done this, and my accounts are still not unfrozen/opened. I have been stuck with NO money for 4 days. Capitec does not even have the decency to call a person they just freeze your accounts leave you stuck until one day your accounts get unfrozen. As I asked the lady in branch how long do I have to wait to access my account, and she advised up to 48 hrs IF there is no backlog. I am gobsmacked!!!

07 Jul 2025, 14:10Trust me I do not have patience in this regard!! I am definitely closing this bank account and will be going through a different service provider as it shocks me that Capitec feels they can just freeze a person's account for an electronic payment the client made themself.
I also do not understand how a ***** case was opened, and I did not log this query with Capitec.
I have NO access to my funds because of a discission Capitec has taken before consulting with me as the account holder. How do you think I should be purchasing food and necessities without my funds!!
I have still not been contacted by anyone from Capitec regarding this!! and I am having to run around after you guys trying to gain access to my account!
I also do not understand how a ***** case was opened, and I did not log this query with Capitec.

THIS IS A DESCISION CAPITEC MADE AND NOW I GET EMAILS LIKE THIS. AFTER I AS TOLD IN BRANCH IT WOULD TAKE UP TO 48 HOURS TO BE RESOLVED!!!
