Capitec is pathetic!

Capitec please answer as to how someone who broke into my car and stole my wife's bank card (amongst other items) can gain her pin code and withdraw funds? This is the second time this has been done to us. I firmly believe that it's not safe to bank at Capitec Bank anymore. And the ***** helpline at Capitec is pathetic and completely unhelpful. They refuse to even pretend to try help recover our lost funds, the service is absolutely appalling.

Hi Luke — I’m really sorry this happened. A car break‑in and cash withdrawals are frightening and unacceptable, especially since this is the second time. I’m going to help secure the account immediately and get a full ***** investigation underway. What I’ll do with you now: Stop the card to prevent any further withdrawals. Log an unauthorised withdrawal dispute with our ***** team. Attach a SAPS case number once you have it so investigators can request CCTV where possible. Reissue a new card and help secure your app/PIN as soon as the card is blocked.

I want to know how the ********s who broke into my car gained access to a personal pin number. Also as this is credit I need to know what the steps are to get the funds reallocated to the account. It is not our fault that my vehicle got broken into and the card was ******. It is Capitecs responsibility to investigate howthe pin was retrieved ot withdraw money out of the credit card. If this cannot be resolved amicably I will be left no choice but to get the Ombudsman involved in this issue.
