CAPITEC IS A USELESS BANK

DO NOT bank with Capitec.

My husband and I have been banking with Capitec for years. We are in the process of purchasing a home, however, my husband needs to build his credit record (has always purchased everything cash so he has no credit record), and Capitec refuses to assist with providing him a credit card. First they provided him with a personal loan and indicated that once it is paid he will qualify for a credit card. We have done just that over the past few months and now they say he doesn't qualify. He obviously cannot start building credit elsewhere, as all other financial institutions insist he needs to start building credit with the bank his salary goes into. WHAT A COMPLETEY USELESS BANK. we could have changed banks months ago IF THEY DID NOT LIE TO US to take a personal loan first and than we would qualify for a credit card.
