CAPITEC IS A TERRIBLE BANK
I mysteriously lost R10 000 from my account in December 2017. I thought I had miscalculated funds somehow as I had not been keeping a close eye on the Capitec account. I reported the matter. Nothing was done about it. Before then, I had taken a loan of R100 000 in August 2014 and the interest was R200 000. I kid you not. I have reversed numerous unauthorised debit orders from my account at a whooping charge of R30 for each and Capitec has never wanted to take responsibility for these.I must have lost roughly R1000 in charges. The straw that broke the camel's back was a Cash Send facility that swallowed R1000. I reported the matter through their call centre. I have been told I must wait 7 days, someone will call me back, no it's actually 30 days. Am I sure the intended recipient is not lying? Was it a Spark or normal Capitec ATM? Do I know the people who gave me this information? Etc. These all questions I get when I follow up the matter with wither the branch or the call centre. The long and short of it, It's my problem. I am taking my money to Tym Bank. I am not enriching a white owned bank that has clearly shown its disdain for their black customers, who happen to be the bulk of the market. But enough is enough. I would like to encourage everyone to leave Capitec with immediate effect.
