Capitec Internet Charges

In November 2019 I discovered ******* internet charges and reported the matter to Capitec (around 8th - 11th). Only on 10th March 2020 has Capitec gotten back to me, highlighting that the charges were online purchases, hit my account from September 2019 to November 2019 and thus my responsibility. I believe Capitec is deviously absolving itself from this matter because, if one has their banking app, every internet purchase is approved via the app as a control measure. Obviously the IT/***** risk from Capitec know that these ******* charges bypassed their security as I didn't approve them via the app.

After the 2019 charges, I was issued with a new card, and a similar ********** transaction hit my account, again without my approval via the app (27th Feb 2020). In total, ********** internet transactions worth R3,300 have hit to my account, bypassing the security measure of approving via the Capitec App. This simply means controls at Capitec are lax and so is their accountability.
