Capitec Insurance not settling outstanding amount and Active Credit Card of deceased

I'm the son to my deceased Mother and I have noted an sms from Capitec that there R336.20 is outstanding on the Credit Card. To my knowledge I submitted a death certificate and ID at the branch in July 2021 to claim for Credit Card insurance to settle the outstanding amount on the credit card and close account.

I'm flabbergasted when I switched on my mum's cellphone to see that there was an outstanding amount and do not understand where you will collect that amount as bank account (FNB) where debit order is processed is closed.

Furthermore, why is an account of a deceased still active / open?

We would not be accountable for any ***** that happens in that account and any amount that is outstanding currently as these should have been closed when notified the bank in July 2021. No bank transactions should be continuing from date of documents submitted as informed the branch to freeze & close account.

Kindly share the signed documents of the credit card insurance that indicate the full amount is not paid upon claim submitted? As we don't agree that such a clause exists on documents originally signed!!!
