CAPITEC IN BREACH OF CREDIT AGREEMENT - AGAIN!
I write this complaint on behalf of my Spouse, whom is an upset, unsatisfied and angry Capitec client.
My Spouse has a credit card account with Capitec. Part of the agreement is that the installment will be paid on the 24th of each month via debit order.
All her payments are up to date.
On 11 December 2020 her mother deposited an amount into her savings account and on the same day but at 22h00 she received a sms from Capitec that they deducted R400.00 from her savings account for her credit card.
After worrying the whole night she called Capitec the next morning. Unfortunately she ran out of airtime and nobody from Capitec took the trouble to call her back.
She had to take of work and go to the nearest branch, which is Hazeldean, Pretoria East, close to Silverlakes.
She was assisted by a lady, whom at first was not very friendly and unhelpfull. Another lady intervened and confirmed that Capitec sent out an email to all their branches that Capitec are going to early deduct monies from their clients account for paying their credit cards, whereas it is "silly season" and want tp prevent clients not paying their credit cards.
The lady also confirmed that they new this will have huge impact on their clients finances.
My Spouse had to proof that it is not her salary otherwise she will not get her monies back!!! It is so clear that it was not her salary, whereas the amount is much less than her salary and the identity of the person who deposited the monies is definitely not her Employer!!! It was her mother!!!
My Spouse had to call her HR head, who is on holiday to send an email to proof it is not her salary.
This is absolute unacceptable for Capitec to breach contract and let my Spouse waste her airtime, take of work and be treated as if it is her fault and to take all the trouble to get her money back!
Capitec at the end paid the R400 back, which proofs that they are purposely at fault and committed breach of contract.
They are commiting a delict and putting their clients under unnecessary financial pressure. What about the poor people that have to take public transport to go to branches to get their own funds back!!!
Dont they even think of their clients financial positions and also the Covid exposure their clients have to endure for Capitec's blatant breach of contract.
Who receives the interest while the funds are in their account?
Seriously, somebody must do something against them.
