Capitec fee dishonesty
I think it's high time Capitec did something about their ATM machines. On SASSA pensioner day every month I need to withdraw my money from SASSA and deposit it into my Capitec account. The last few months, most of the very few ATM machines that accept cash have not been working. This necessitated driving from one place to another to find an ATM that works. This morning once again the ATM at Karaglen branch was out of order. Being a pensioner i cannot drive around looking for an ATM that works. The staff at the bank said I should come and deposit in the branch because the ATM was not going to be repaired today. I had little petrol so I deposited R1700 into my account in the branch but only because the ATM wasn't working. For this service I was charged a whopping R59.50. THIS IS A DISGRACE especially since I had no choice and couldn't use the ATM as I usually do. Surely the bank can charge the same as an ATM if THEIR MACHINES ARE OUT OF ORDER. I'm beginning to wonder if these ATM's are only out of order when it's month end and the bank knows they are going to get lots of over the counter business and fees if the ATM is out of order, or a deliberate way to get more fees. Surely Capitec can ensure that their ATM's are used extensively at month end and SASSA payment dates? Surely they can at least make the effort to ensure they are functional or perhaps they can put in many many more necessary cash accepting machines? Come on Capitec it's high time you put your money where your mouth is and at least try to make pensioners lives easier and more cost effective?
Best regards,
