Capitec Fails to Respond

On 14 May I noticed two unauthorised debits on my bank account with Capitec. I looked up the two companies involved, both overseas companies I think from Ireland and wrote an e-mail to both demanding a reversal of the debit as I had done no business with the companies. This was late in the afternoon of the 14th, Early on the 15th of May, I went to the local branch of the bank to take the matter up with them. The gentleman who helped me opened up my account and it was clear that the debits were provisional as they were listed as debits which were marked for finalisation but were not finalised as yet. My thinking was that this would be the ideal opportunity to stop the debits as they had not been completed at that stage. I also provided the person at the branch with co***es of the two e-mails that I sent off the previous day. I was promised that the matter would be finalised within 8 working days, I am disappointed that up to this moment I have not heard anything from the bank and that the matter remains outstanding. I phoned the bank one day but no satisfactory answer could be supp**** as to why the matter remained unattended. In fact I was told that the issue was referred to the relevant section of the bank and that they have not responded, They appear to be totally unconcerned about the business of their clients and to have reached the position where the other banks are when it comes to client satisfaction. What a pity because they seemed so eager in the beginning to be different.
