Capitec Fails: No Help for Wrong Account Transfers

I am really disappointed with Capitec. Their customers are really at risk. My mother deposited money into the wrong Capitec account number. She went to the branch to report the issue and reverse the money, and she was told that there's nothing they could do. If there's anything they can do, they need to ask permission from the wrong account holder to reverse the money, and if he or she doesn't give permission, they can't reverse the money.

So, we tried their WhatsApp helpline, and now we got a different answer where we were advised to open a civil case against the wrong account holder. In other words, they are just saying this is between you and the police.
