Capitec doing nothing to stop card *****

On Saturday 22 December 2018 at 20:08 i noticed that transactions started going off on my account with a paypal reference. 6 transactions in total at a total amount of about R5000.

I immediately noticed this is wrong seeing i had my card with me and didnt purchase anything and proceeded to log onto my banking app and stop my card. After this i phoned the call center to report this card ***** and log a case with them and asked them to stop and reverse the transactions before they are processed.

The lady in the call center gave me a reference and said that the transactions cant be stopped and it must first be invedtigated by their card dispute department.

On sunday the banks were closed and i couldnt get through to anyone. Monday came and i went to capitec branch i seedoone mall amanzimtoti. The lady their told me they cannot phone their disputes department as they dont have phones (which sounds like bullsh*t to me) she then said she will send them a mail to phone her and get back to me. (Still waiting for that call)

On thursday after the public holidays we drove back to pretoria from holiday and i went to the waverly plaza branch where i got the same run around. The guy tells me there is a big chance i wont get my money back as they first need to get permission from where the money was sent to, to reverse it. Now the transactions are processed and my money is gone and capitec whom is supposed to keep my money safe is just throwing their hands in the air. Their card department still doesnt have phones (thats right still calling bs) and i have lost all my savings money.

I have always had my card with me. It never leaves my side and i have never done shopping on unsecured or untrusted sites.

If they acted quickly they could have stopped those payments before they were processed.

The kicker here, 4 of the 6 transactions were for R14.40 and the other 2 were for R1100+

The R14.40 transactions were stopped and reversed but they let the big ones go through.

I smell a rat and i want my money back

Will this feedback come like the feedback i was supposed to get from cards department? Cause im still waiting for that. No meaningful response from anyone. And after reading comments on hellopeter i see a lot of people with the same issue as me. ******* transactions and no action from capitec. This is starting to look like an inside job. I want propper feedback within 24 hours or i will lay a formal complaint with the banking ombud and regulator
