Capitec does not care about clients reporting ********** activities on accounts
On the 12th February 2021, I was making an online transaction with the aim of paying just R70 with my credit card, but instead two amounts of R1443.19 (bulk16help.com) & R1805.83(smthinglowcare.com) went through which were not what was supposed to happen. I immediately called the company concerned, and after explaining to them about my experience, I realised that this was probably a ****. They did not have to say this in so many words. I immediately contacted Capitec contact/call centre to inform them about the transactions with the hope that they will not let the transactions go through as they were still pending in my credit card. I was also advised to cancel my credit card which I did immediately over the phone. I then went to the branch to get a new card. I sent an email to ClientCare as a follow-up to the report and requested a reference number for the reported transactions. The response (on the 15th February) I got from ClientCare was to be contacted within 5 business days. The transactions went ahead even though this was reported immediately??. This is as good as not having reported at all! Five business days came and passed, not feedback or contact from ClientCare. Clearly Capitec's Client care division does not care enough about it's customers to help fight ********s from de*****ing their customers. What is the point of reporting ***** if transactions can still be allowed to proceed? What is the point of having Clientcare division if this division does not even care about clients? VERY DISAPPOINTED!!
