Capitec does not apply due diligence when it comes to *****

My father went to an capitec Atm in Mbekweni ,Paarl,Western Cape.He is a supplementary account holder on my account. His bank card was swallowed at the ATM ,he immediately went to the Mbekweni Capitec bank and asked them to stop the card. They could not find the account on my name nor with his details even though he is a supplementary account holder.Subsequently they lodged a call with client service but the card was not stopped and because time was wasted R5000 was withdrawn.I HAVE A HUGE ISSUE WITH HOW THIS WAS HANDLED! Firstly I was told when I added my father as a supplementary account holder he has POWER OF ATTORNEY so surely he should be able to stop the ****ned card that has his details on it.What kind of system do you have Capital that does not allow for a search on his details. It is incredibly NEGLIGENT to issue a bank card to a supplementary card holder but not have a process in place when an ATM swallows that card.Especially when the person immediately reports this to your branch. Also I am told after the fact that the bank manager could have opened the ATM to get the card. The freaking consultant did not event want to escort my father to the ATM right next to the bank.Capitec you are definitely not going to continue to be SA' s number one if you let your customers lose 5000 Rand because of your NEGLIGENCE.I am so glad R5000 was the limit or else who knows???
