Capitec does not allow online shopping abroad (authentication is only via SA Cellphone only)

I enquired from Capitec how I can shop online when I am abroad as the authentication process of Capitec has changed from a securicheck password to a cellphone USSD popup. My phone will not be working outside South Africa.

The response is, "As your South African number is not active while abroad, you would not be able to do online shopping.".

In other words, Capitec is useless outside South Africa. You will have to bank with a fully fledged bank for travelling overseas.
