Capitec doen't care that ********** are taking your money
Last week I received an sms to authorize a debit on my capitec account. I knew I had no arrangements to that effect so I ignored it. Over the weekend, the debit went of anyway. It was under R100, so no notification was sent but I needed to know so I checked. It had been raised before that week and was cancelled then it was raised again and authorised. Bear in mind that this was not by me.
I contacted capitec who's answer was that I should call the company, clear committing ***** and ask hem to stop the debit order. It cannot be reversed on the app, which capitec would charge you for anyway and they apparently cannot do it either. So just R1 200 will go to ********** if you stay with capitec for a year. I have been with capitec since december 2006 and they didn't even make an effort to investigate.
I did a simple google search and simply typing azn communications debit order gave this result: Capitec fights back against R99 debit order ***** and a Hello Peter review with the exact same problem.
Capitec also told that client to call the ********* and ask them for his money back nicely. Had capitec cared about it's client's safety, business and money, they could have picked this up with a simple google earch or a flg on their system but I guess there's enough unbanked people in the country for them to replace us with. we are simply inconsequential.
If you have a capitec account, I urge you to look at your statement for this debit and possibly others. The debits are deliberately made under R 100 so you won't recieve a notification. Imagine R89 x all clients every month.
Capitec doesn't care because they still get to charge you for the debit!!!
