Capitec, do you do Salami Slicing with regard to interest ? Do you understand interest ?

It seems that Capitec Bank is in the business of what is called Salami Slicing with regards to interest calculation. I checked the interest calculation on a Capitec Account for 3 months, in all cases the interest was rounded down in Capitec's favour. With their close to 16 million clients, if each has 2 sub accounts the amount of "Salami" will be close to a million rand a year. Do Capitec also round it of for money owed ?

My main complaint is however that Capitec seems to grant interest free loans from our accounts to various *********. So called legal debt collecting agencies run by so called lawyers. These ********* process false and un authorized debit orders on unsuspecting innocent Capitec Clients. When Capitec is notified about this , they are more interested to charge dispute fees, transaction fees and refer the innocent client to either deal with these ****bags or go to the police. The staff do not even know their own systems, instructing the client to reverse the debit order themselves with the app, even when the amount exceed the app limit.

The money was eventually reversed after hours of fighting with *********** staff that claimed right up to the end the debit order was valid. However 3 months after the money was taken, Capitec has still not calculated and reimbursed the interest due to this theft/loan. Capitec, are you able to do this ?

The amount of interest is small, however it is the principle. You had your chance to rectify, now I will claim my fees as well. Do Capitec disregard interest on money owed to them.
