Capitec ***** Department refusing to Assist
On the 19 of August 2024 I was alerted that my ID number is listed on SAFPS, I called SAFPS and was told that I was listed by Capitec Bank; the steps that need to taken were for me to contact Capitec Bank ***** department; so that they (Capitec Bank) can write a letter to SAFPS clearing me so that SAFPS can remove the listing. I called Capitec and was told that I needed to a branch to report this matter. I went to the Capitec Bank Hartbee****rt Village Mall, where I saw a consultant and was told that I need to submit an affidavit detailing what happened according to my knowledge; this was done on the 19th of August. The email was sent by the consultant on my behalf and I was not privy to what was typed out; and because I am not a Capitec client, I wasn’t provided with an incident number. The consultant assured me that she will contact me should there be a response from the ***** Department; however, I have found myself have to travel there on a weekly basis to see where the progress is. 3 weeks later on the 09th of September, I went to the branch and was told there was a query on my ID, to which I complained that I have shared documents with the bank and I am not receiving adequate assistance; again I am getting secondary information as I am not being shown this said email nor the details of the investigating officer; the consultant reads it and comes to tell me what it says. As I was looking for any documents that may assist, I came across RCS documentation dated 23 Jan 2020, and it is a letter where I am not found liable for two credit cards that were taken in my name or ID number *****ulently. Now with Capitec Bank the possible ***** took place in July 2019, where there was an attempt to take a loan at Capitec but it wasn’t unsuccessful. Please note that in the same year between September and October two credit cards were opened *****ulently – I shared these documents with Capitec Bank because it proves that for a period of four months in 2019 my ID or particulars were used with my knowledge. Last Friday on 27th of September 2024, I called the Capitec Harties Village Mall branch to which I felt that the secondary information I was being given was confusing me hence my now complaint. From my side I have shared information and Capitec Bank is not being helpful in removing my ID from the SAFPS listing.
