Capitec delivers "***" service

Shoo what a shock I got today. I went to 1 of Capitec's branches in Mafikeng trying to open a savings account. I was helped by a very unprofessional consultant who told me directly that they only accept the Smart Card ID's an no longer the only green bar coded ID. Since when is this law? She couldn't explain to me and she didn't even try to explain herself. As per my knowledge, this is not a requirement of the FIAS or FICA laws in SA. My God I cannot believe what I heard today, they are now turning away customers and for such a small bank, the consultant think they own Capitec yet they are simply general workers there. I would advise the bigger SA people to stay away from such banks because they offer *** and poor service. Never again would I go and try and open up an account with Capitec. Their service sucks and now we need to be in possession of the new smart id cards, this is not law. So wake up Capitec and stop chasing people away. Capitec offers *** service, period.

Please do not waste your time like you wasted mine. Capitec offers a *** service and I have escalated this matter to the Banking Ombudsman. If we as customers are so important, why don't you give immediate attention to our complaints? Why must you take 5 working days to come up with a lot of bull****? This situation will not be resolved quickly or to my satisfaction because now I have sent my complaint to the Department of Home Affairs and to the Banking Ombudsman to request the law that come into effect regarding the new Smart Card ID's. Lets see what they say because surely you don't give a flying **** if you lose customers yet you guys are quick to send SMS's out begging us to open new accounts or to take up loans with your bank. If you offered a much better service then the *** 1 you did, why would people still waste their time to open accounts with Capitec? South Africans need to know about the poor service you offer and I suggest that you put big signs up in your branches clearly stating the following, "We at Capitec only accept the new Smart ID cards, if you are still in possession of the old green bar coded ID, please use it as toilet paper because we at Capitec offer a **** service".

It is very interesting to see all your replies on this site is very poor as no effort is being made to resolve any issues. I wish I was employed in your HR department because the person that wrote that is also uneducated and it goes to show that Capitec doesn't worry about their reputation and yet they will defend the *********** people that works for them. South Africans, wake up and don't use Capitec. Their staff and their Directors are running around like ******s in the winelands of Stellenbosch. They have no clue what *** service means and they surely cannot resolve any issues amicably. Its time for we as people to expose institutions like yours because like they say, the customer is always right and today I was proven right once more. Guys don't forget, Capitec's mandate say that the no longer use the old green bar coded ID but the new smart card ID. Julle mors met die verkeerde een want julle ***ken service suck nes die mense wie vir julle werk.

After no response from Capitec and only the same reply like the previous 1, I in the meantime contacted Home Affairs and the Banking Ombudsman regarding this issue with the smart card and green bar coded ID's. Home Affairs informed me that Capitec has no right to refuse anyone to use their services with the old green SA ID and that they cannot force people to apply for the new smart card ID when they still in possession of the old ID. Home Affairs made it clear that they sent out no directives to any banking institutions instructing their staff especially to Capitec that they are no longer to accept the green bar coded ID's. I was informed by Home Affairs that if your ID and barcode is legible then it will remain a valid document until such time the owner feel the need to apply for the new smart card. They asked me to ask Capitec, " Do they now want to do the jobs of people employed by Home Affairs". I also contacted the Banking Ombudsman and they informed me it is the first time some brought this to their attention as it is not part of the FICA or FIAS acts. Capitec will not respond to this as they now opened a can of worms and soon they will come up with a lot of bull****. Everyone who has issues with Capitec, raise them so we can make a difference b helping other people also who experienced the same as us. Once again, the service of Capitec is a disgrace and everyone using them should know that they offer *** services to us as clients.

I have reported this matter to Home Affairs, the banking Ombudsman and to the Banking Association of South Africa. Capitec offers *** and poor services and I told you I won't leave this situation at all. Also please refrain from contacting me and let the real professionals sort this out. Very unhappy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I wish other people do the same and let the whole SA see how poor your services really is.
