Capitec Credit Card application - definitely not #BankBetterLiveBetter

If you read Capitec's website, it refers to "simple" banking. Well, it is simple, but not in the meaning of "efficient/easy/quick"!! I went to apply for a credit card today, Saturday morning at the newly opened branch at Cavendish Square and duly had my latest salary slip, 3 months bank statements etc. Keep in mind that I also have a Global One debit card with a credit balance of over R200,000 (I mainly use it as a savings/emergency fund). I have had the Capitec account for at least 12 years - I still have the toggle to get my approval codes so now you know how long I have been with Capitec!! My salary is paid into my Nedbank account. After nearly an hour of back and forth to open the account (and noticing that I qualify for a credit of R80,000 per month on the screen), and explaining from the start that I am mainly applying for the credit card as the overseas ATM and payment fees seem to be the lowest at Capitec (I explained I am really only applying for the credit card in an effort to keep my transaction costs as low as possible for a foreign holiday), I was asked whether my HR works today as they need to call my HR. Really - if having HR working on a Saturday is a requirement to apply for a credit card, this should be someone on the website/brochures and/or asked of the client when they walk in on a Saturday and say they want to apply for a credit card. The advertising material indicates that a minimum salary of R3000 per month is required - mine is R90 000 and yet after nearly an hour sitting there watching the incompetence of both the branch manager and consultant, I am asked whether my HR works on a Saturday. Unacceptable Capitec - definitely not #BankBetterLiveBetter.
