Capitec calls police because I wanted it to release my money.
My name is Omphemetse (Acc no ***). On Friday 29 April 2022 at about 14H30 I used my card to pay for items that cost R24669.17. This transaction was declined with a message that said I had insufficient funds. When I looked into my account that amount was taken from my account meaning a transaction was successful.
I then called Capitec customer care line about the matter and the lady I spoke to told me to take the slip to the branch. On Saturday I took my matter to the branch before 09H00 and I explained my problem to a lady by the name of Refilwe. She asked for my slip and made a call. She then told me my money is still with Capitec but it can't be released because it's more than R10K. I was unhappy with this and asked Refilwe to tell them to release the money since I had been waiting since the previous day. Refilwe then asked me to move back so that she could help another client so I refused since my matter was unresolved. She then called her manager who did nothing to try and address my problem. Instead she called a security guard to remove me from the branch. I then left that chair and waited until 13H00 when the branch was closing. The manager then called the police to physically remove me from the branch. I am very unhappy with because the manager did nothing to address my problem. She was happy to use force from the first minute. My business is going to suffer because it's a long weekend and Capitec is withholding my money. I hope Capitec takes this seriously.
