Capitec Bank – Security & System Failures
Capitec Bank – Security & System Failures In October 2025, Capitec failed to process the credit life premium on my loan account because the outstanding balance was zero. Instead of applying the debit order correctly, their system placed my account in arrears — a fundamental operational failure. To “fix” their error, I had to transfer R5,000 just to trigger a debit order. Then, Capitec deducted R4,132.06 when the correct debit order should have been R371.33. I was told this amount was “set by me” — which is impossible, as the Capitec app enforces limits and clearly reflected the correct debit order amount. Even worse: Capitec accessed my account and claimed I had approved their access via a phone message. I never approved this. This proves their ***** detection systems do not work. If unauthorized access can be falsely marked as “approved,” every customer is at risk. Despite hours wasted on WhatsApp support, I still have no explanation for the core issue: How is credit life paid when the loan balance is zero? Capitec has ignored my formal complaint. If I don’t receive a proper response, I will escalate this matter to the Banking Ombudsman. Customers deserve transparency, accountability, and systems that actually protect them.
I believe Capitec is intentionally trying to force me into arrears, damage my credit profile, and extract more funds through inflated debit orders.
Most importantly, you have still not answered my initial query: How is credit life paid when the loan balance is zero?
Beyond the technical failures, your repeated errors have systematically disrupted my life. I have spent hours of irreplaceable time and money trying to resolve issues that should never have occurred. Each month I am forced to correct Capitec’s mistakes, and yet the problems persist. This is not only unacceptable — it is evidence of a deeper systemic failure that is harming me directly.
