Capitec Bank refuses to let me rearrange my loan repayments

I am so disgusted with Capitec as it has refused to let me decrease my loan installments even after explaining to the consultants that my son had been in and out of hospital from July to September due to a terminal illness that has not only caused us the parents so much strain emotionally and mentally but has also inundated us with medical bills which our medical aid did not cover for. I have went twice to the branches for assistance and was told to come with proof (which were some of the doctors statements as others were received by SMS which means I cannot bring this as proof). We owe two hospitals overR10 000 and with my partner having being faced with a salary downscale at work, I am thus responsible to settle the bills. Mind you, this excludes the money we need for my sons medication which is so expensive!

I was told by Sinethemba the call centre agent that the credit department refused for me to reschedule because: 1 my salary has went up in the past 3 months (this is correct due to our company allowing a medical aid allowance since September and I received a 2 months backpay and also because I had received a travel allowance which is meant to compensate for the time I spend on the road for work purposes, this should not be considered as part of my salary) and 2, the proof I provided is not sufficient for them to allow me a decrease in my loan repayment (like I said, some of these outstanding payments are sent to us via SMS, how can I provide this as proof?).

I honestly do not know what it is I need to do to show that I am indebted! Do you honeslty want your clients to have a bad credit history over something that could've been handled effectively? I AM NOT saying I do not want to pay the loan, I want to reduce the payments!I'm even thinking of moving my salary to another bank so I can pay the loan myself each month.

The complaints division at Capitec, Please Help!

Fustrated mom of a sickly child
