Capitec Bank poor sevice
Although I've told Capitec Bank to process my debit order on the 25th of the month, which is my official pay date (according to my employers appointment letter) on Friday 22nd of November, before my salary was paid into my bank account, their debit order went through and they almost emptied my bank account. Unaware of this, I went to the shop to buy groceries for the weekend, and was told that my transaction was declined due to insufficient funds. I was so embarrassed! I went onto the banking app and to my surprise found that Capitec took almost everything out of my account with a debit order that was supposed to go through on the 25th of the month. I've spent almost an hour in the bank on the phone to get them to reverse the debit order. On Monday the 25th Capitec start sending me emails, sms'es and even whatsapp messages, informing me that my account is overdue and I must call them. In the meantime I've already arranged with Capitec to take the instalment, which they did and to ensure that they do not attempt to put the debit order through again before my actual pay date. Their excuse was that my salary gets paid early every month, before the 25th. I explain to them that it is not guaranteed and that the debit order date should stay on the 25th as that is my official pay date. My question is, what if I went out for dinner or put fuel in my car only to find that I've got no money left in my bank account to pay for the goods or sevice already received. Is this fair? For the past 15 months they received full payment every month,. As a loyal customer to be harrassed on the 25th of the month and to be told that my account is overdue is not good sevice at all! I am sure that there are other Capitec clients who experienced similar problems with Capitec Bank as it is the 2nd time that this happened to me.
