Capitec Bank is a joke

This is a first. Just went to open an account with Capitec Bank, Heidelberg, Gauteng, all required documents in hand. They refused to open an account for me claiming my ID document is damaged. Every page is perfectly legible, the barcode is readable, the ID is acceptable to my current bank and all sorts of government institutions but Capitec Heidelberg, Gauteng seems to have higher standards.

No problem though, I'll have a new account opened by the end of the day at a bank that actually wants to do business.

Will walk on the other side of the street when I pass a Capitec from now on.

Many thanks to the manageress of Capitec Heidelberg, Gauteng for refusing to open an account for me.
I immediately went to another bank in the same mall, with the same id document and promptly opened up a new bank account.
I appreciate you showing your incompetence BEFORE I opened up an account at Capitec, otherwise I would only have found out after I became a client.

Update to previous post.
I just used the same "unacceptable", damaged identity document to renew 2 car licenses at my local town counsel. It was perfectly acceptable to them.
I received a call from Capitec customer service after my previous post, the lady I spoke to tried to convince me that the manageress was within her rights to refuse my id. It seems everyone accepts it except Capitec, even government institutions.
My conclusion: she was wrong, purposefully uncooperative and out right rude.
Capitec customer service was argumentative and not interested in addressing the problem with their staff. They just tried to convince me that I was wrong.
