Capitec Bank has the right to take money out of your account without informing you!!!!

Hello Peter,

On 14 December 2023 an amount of R2 720 was paid into my account by "Gau FleetRental (Pty) Ltd (Tshikosi RFN)".

On the 4th January 2024, I noticed that money was missing from my account. I subsequently visited my nearest Capitec branch. The bank assistant advised that "Capitec" had taken the above money out of my account as they had been advised that this money had been received from *****ulent activities.

I subsequently handed in all relevant documents as required by Capitec.

My first question to you is this: Who gives "Capitec" the right to take money out of my account without first notifying me, the ACCOUNT HOLDER?

I revisited the branch and personally requested from the Capitec assistant the details of who reported this money as *****ulent in the first place. I was told that that was confidential information and they could not supply me with the details.

Secondly, I have contacted Capitec Bank on numerous occasions and to-date nothing has been resolved.
