Capitec Bank don't care about their clients

CAPITEC BANK, Waterfront, Bloemfontein My brother and his wife both bank at Capitec in Bloemfontein. They both receive disability grants. My brother suffers from Asperger’s and he is autistic, yet Capitec force their apps down everyone’s throats. Because of this, my brother was recently hacked and his and his wife’s accounts were drained. Can you imagine the trauma this caused? What did Capitec do about this matter? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! This is a shocking indictment of this bank. There are people out there who are not computer savvy and who do not even have a computer or email address, yet these banks persist with their apps, their call centres where a number must be selected and people are left waiting for ages. If they get the number wrong they have to start over again. But who cares, it is only their air time not the bank’s expense. Please tell the public how you HELP the elderly, those with problems with their eye sight and the mentally infirm?? I for one would love to know. I reside in Johannesburg so cannot rush to help them when things like this happen. The least Capitec can do is to reimburse them. If they call me I will happily supply my brother’s details, but they probably will not. Do banks not have insurance cover for situations like this? I remember that money was taken out of my bank account and FNB did insure that I got my money back on condition that I did not hold them accountable for the situation. It is a crying shame that there is so little empathy and understanding for people with disabilities. Shame on you Capitec Bank, shame on you. R.Randall-Taylor
