Capitec Bank Branch Closure
I have a savings account with Capitec and discovered a few days ago that the branch closed to me has closed! I have not had any notification or warning about this, even though I have the app on my phone. I have not seen anything about this closure in the news. I googled the branch option on the Capitec website and the closed branch that I used appeared as an option! Emailing Capitec, I voiced my annoyance and 3 days later I received a response, apologising for the "inconvenience" and sending a link to a list of branches. Lo and Behold, the same closed branch appears on that list!! How on earth do I find a branch near me in case I need it? Very slack service, and information that can't be trusted?

12 Nov 2024, 16:18Hi, I received a call from Ms Siyasanga Blayi, the Complaint Management Officer at Capitec H/O. I went through the whole story again, about the shock closure of the Norwood branch in Johannesburg. She confirmed that the branch had closed and said that notices went out about this to clients. I said that this client (me) and my daughter had not received any notification. She then called the Balfour Park branch to confirm that they were operational and confirmed that they were, in deed, open. My family do not do branch visits often, but sometimes it becomes necessary to do so. It is nice to know that a branch is still operational before actually driving there to find the doors closed. I thank Ms Blayi for the time she took to contact me, but I still feel that Capitec could tighten up on their customer relationship skills. Additionally, they should update their website branch list - Norwood branch still appears as an operational branch on the list!
