CAPITEC BANK

On Thursday 15th August 2019, I made a purchase of R1,376.00 at a merchant in Benoni (Prominant Paints) using my Capitec Bank Debit Card. Upon the first attempt to swipe the card and then after punching my PIN the transaction was rejected and then only after the second attempt was the transaction successful. Some few hours later I happened to go through my SMSs and only to be shocked by two transactions of R1,376.00 that went through my account as paid. I then went back to the merchant who proved to me that on their side the money banked was only one transaction of the same amount as mentioned above. I then went to Capitec Bank Lakeside Mall branch whose staff could not help me. The lady I spoke to told me that there is nothing anyone can do and the money will reverse itself automatically between 3-7 days. It is more than 7-days now and my money is still not back yet and as an unemployed father of school going children, the amount of mobey missing in this regard is way too much. I want my money as I don't understand why would Capitec Bank keep my money ehen i need it most
