Capitec ATM swallowed my money, now what?

I deposited a total of R50,000 in 4 separate batches at the top and lower level Capitec ATM's in Kenilworth Centre, Cape Town today. The 4th deposit was swallowed and caused the deposit ATM (at the lower level outside Capitec Bank) to freeze and shutdown to a windows screen without any confirmation that the money was deposited into my wife's Capitec account ***5**...

I immediately called the support line and was told the relevant department will contact me within 24 hours after which the money will be transferred into my Capitec account, I then advised the woman who assisted me "Lusanda" to please just make sure the deposit is completed into my wife's account as I intended.

I've heard of people's cards being swallowed by an ATM but this is the first time I've experienced an ATM *****ing from a customer!

This experience has been horrifying to say the least! I will be contacting Capitec in the morning to further investigate this matter, I cannot accept the fact that an ATM which is suppose to be a safe way to bank be the cause of so much anxiety!

Capitec should have a 24 hour technical team to assist with ATM issues like this as there was literally nobody to assist as the branch was already closed.

I would like a representative to contact me urgently to put my mind at ease, I cannot afford for this deposit of R10,600 to be lost to a ATM from a bank I thought I could trust.

The time of writing is 6:55 PM and the deposit has still not reflected since making the deposit around 5:40 PM.

Reviewer Update
Update: I received a call this morning from Nothemba an agent from Capitec's complaints department, she asked me for a detailed explanation on what exactly happened on 31 August 2020. After explaining my ordeal she assured me that the matter will be dealt with ASAP and might take up to 5 days to investigate, I agreed and ended the call.

Within 30mins my wife received an sms notification reflecting the missing deposit! What a relief!

I am very satisfied with the outcome and impressed how well Nothemba handled my case with the urgency it required. My faith in Capitec has been restored!

Thanks for the excellent service Nothemba (***)
