CAPITEC AND VERTEX SOLUTIONS REFUSE TO GIVE PAID UP LETTER - ACC SETTLED

I had an account with Capitec which I unfortunately could not pay due to circumstances beyond my control. I was handed over to vertex solutions because of the defaults.

I dealt with vertex for over a year and I finally saved enough money to finally pay the whole debt off. I called Vertex on the 26th of April and requested a settlement amount, The amount was emailed to me and payment was made (attached).

I called vertex on the 2nd of May and informed them that I had made payment and I was advised to email the proof of payment which I did. On the very same day I called and I was told that it will take 3 days for the money to reflect on their side and a further 5 days to get paid up letters from their client (CAPITEC BANK) , the paid up letters were supposed to be given to me by Friday the 12th of May (as per agreement with vertex). I vertex today and was told that they are still waiting for capitec to give them settlement letters, I asked to to be put through to a manager of which I was denied that privilege and asked to hold further.

The consultant (Mpho Mahlangu) upon returning to the call told me that her manager (Patricia Kutumelo) was busy and could not speak to me and told me that the truth is they have received funds and have not paid capitec (13 days later) and only process payments to capitec once a month( which was not part of the agreement) .

The reason I am making such a huge deal with this (besides the fact that I have made a huge sacrifise paying this up when I had more pressing matters) it’s the fact that I am up for promotion and they need to do a fit and proper analysis on me which includes a credit check. Vertex promised I would have the letters today which I could use to update my info on the credit bureaus. Now I will probably not get the promotion because of lies that your collections company has told me over a period of 3 weeks.

Thank you for the call even if I was told that there is nothing Capitec can do as it is an external company.

I will sit and hope that someone , either on Capitec's or Vertex side will stand up and do their jobs.

i will wait the 5 days i was told to wait by Pheliwe Baartman, if not I will approach the ombudsman as this is just not good enough
