Capitec, a mix of exceptional and very poor sercvice.

I went to close my account after banking there for 4 years. I need student loads and it is not a service they offer. Also there was a debit order that I could not stop as the business closed down during lock-down, but continued to debit my account and the branch could not halt it.

However when I went to close the account at the Glen fair branch the person at the door reacted with disgust when I informed them that I wish to close my account. and the clerk who would assist me. The tone in her voice made it sound as if I insulted her personally by closing my account. Needless to say I went to a different branch to close my account.

At the branch at the Groove mall. I received Very good service. From the person at the door to the clerk, who where very professional.

I have however received excellent service from Juandre Swarts at the Groove branch a week after I closed my account. He spent 45min - an hour on the phone with head office assisting me to get my last 3 months of bank statements. He was very kind and sympathetic towards the trouble of reviving the statements.

Also a kind thanks to Mpolokeng Sobi at the help desk who was the person on the other end of the phone searching for my statements for those 45min.

In summery. if you live in the east of Pretoria. go to the branch at the groove, When there ask for Mr. Swarts. Stay away from the Glen fair branch.
