Brooklyn Branch, Pretoria - Disgusting Service
Good day Capitec,
I would like to bring to your attention the treatment I and my father have received in the past 2 days from the Brooklyn Capitec Branch in Pretoria.
I am applying for my Irish passport. I went to the Brooklyn branch on Thursday the 5th of March, which is across the road from Irish Embassy, to get my application form and photos witnessed by the branch manager. Reinolda Mamaribe was the branch manager on duty. The first witnessing went smoothly, or so I thought, as everything was done quickly and neatly. Reinolda told us to be careful with the stamps on the photos as they smudge easily and take long to dry.
When arriving at the embassy to hand in the application form, the embassy told us that the stamp used is incorrect as it was a teller stamp and not the branch stamp.
I went back to the Brooklyn branch to ask about the branch stamp and was told that they dont have one. Also that Reinolda was not available as she was in a meeting. When I asked to see the different stamps, there was a stamp that had all the details of the branch on it. I asked to use the stamp to create an example on a piece of paper to show the embassy and took it there. They said that is the correct stamp.
By the time I got back to the Brooklyn branch, it was too late to hand in the application as the embassy had closed. Reinolda was still to available.
I had to come to Pretoria again this morning from Johannesburg to complete my application. I had to fill out another application form as the last one was now invalid.
When I got the Brooklyn branch with my father, we were met by Francois, who was working behind one of the teller desks. He was very dismissive and rude and wouldn't listen to what I required. My father asked him to slow down as he was not listening to the fact that I require the branch stamp. He said that he would take the form and photos to the branch manager to get witnessed as she was in the back in a meeting.
While waiting, Francois came out and said the form and photos will be brought out. He then promptly walked out of the branch and disappeared. Tidimalo came out with the form and photos and gave to us. Both the form and one of the photos were very badly stamped as well as smudged. The embassy has said to not have any smudges and the stamps must be clear. My father pointed this out to Tidimalo who dismissed him and walked away, not listening to anything he was saying. My father followed her and caught up with her at the staff entrance where she said to another person in the staff area to call security on my father. My father, now understandably angry, said this terrible treatment will be taken up with head office, Tidimalo dismissed that as well.
Reinolda came out to the front desk to talk to us and said that the previous teller stamp should be accepted. We told her that the embassy rejected it. She wanted to phone the embassy to confirm this. We left as we had to go back to the embassy.
I am shocked at how good service turned into terrible service so quickly. I have never experienced abuse and dismissal like that in any bank, let alone any company. I am considering moving banks because of this.
