Branch cannot issue credit card, why?

Went to Capitec Branch (Six Fountains, I think). I wanted to apply for a credit card, asked for R1000 limit. They then said as my employer is not registered with your bank, so they cannot give me a credit card. As I bank with Capitec and my salary is paid there for the past 2 plus years, surely this should be enough to decide if I can get a credit card.
